This rag quilt purse was made with SU’s Springtime Vintage fabric ($9.95) and solid blue, probably from Walmart (it’s less expensive there). One piece from our fabric package will make two purses, at least for the printed squares. You still need about half a yard for the solid fabric. These are so much fun to make and also fun to carry around.

Here’s my third purse, made with some old jeans. It went pretty quickly, now that I know what I’m doing! I used the rivet for the button and as I couldn’t sew it on, I used our Scallop #2 die to cut a small scallop, used some iron-on webbing as backing, then carefully cut a small hole and inserted the rivet. I ironed it down and now it should stay in place. Looks cute too! The tutorial for this purse can be found on YouTube. Now I should probably get back to making cards – until I get material for the next purse!

These are so much fun to make! No stamping involved, but I used the Big Shot and our clear Scallop Square die to cut out the squares. The first one wasn’t perfect – well, neither was the second – but practice does make better, if not perfect. I’m working on a third made with an old pair of jeans.
