Every now and then I do big projects for friends, like wedding reception favors or cards for a conference. Earlier this year, I made a bunch of little purses for a women’s retreat. I love the Petite Purses die! My friends says she’s paper challenged, so I offered to do it for her and as I’ve done many of these, it was a snap. The designer paper isn’t SU (don’t tell anyone) but everything else is. I used different colors of card stock, stamped and punched the sentiment with the round scallop punch and added a little silver glitter heart to the front.

Every year I make gifts for my bowling league, usually involving chocolate! This year I made these little purses with the Petite Purse Bigz L die. I pulled out my stash of retired paper and stamps for the rest – Riding Hood Red cardstock and a stamp set from a couple of years ago. Hey, I’ve been a demonstrator for over 10 years now (got my 10 year pin in June) and from time to time, it’s nice to dust off some old sets and get them inky.

I cut off the top of the purse, die cut just the tops again, stamped them and glued them into the purses so the tops could be decorated with the poinsettia. A peppermint patty fit nicely inside. Fun to make and cute too!

Here’s another version of the Petite Purse. I used Wisteria Wonder (one of my favorite colors) with a little bit of striped (retired) DSP. I punched out three hearts and used Tiny Tags with the coordinating punch to embellish the purse. It’s also embossed with Perfect Polka Dots. I gave it to my hair dresser, who just got married a few months ago. Last time I called for a hair cut, she was off getting married and honeymooning in Hawaii. I’m glad she’s back!

The new SU Petite Purse die makes the cutest purse! It’s tiny but can hold nice little treasures. This one would make a great baby shower favor, filled with candy or money. I embossed the Pretty in Pink card stock with our Perfect Polka Dots folder, added a little ribbon and a baby rattle from a very old set called Sketch an Event. The handle piece is also made with the die but you could use ribbon.

The new holiday mini is available now through January 2. You can see it on the Stampin’ Up! website. Let me know if you’d like to order any of the cute new holiday sets or great accessories.
