Inspired by jonesdesigncompany, these rolled rose bouquets were perfect for Mother’s Day. They are fairly easy to make, but I did four of them, so cutting the circles by hand and then rolling them all up took some time. I just put Downton Abbey on the telly and the time went quickly.

The colors are Elegant Eggplant, Pirouette Pink and Rose Red, with Garden Green leaves, which I cut out with the Island Floral die (retiring soon). The base is Confetti White, also being retired 😦 and cut out with the Petal Cone die.  I embossed it on two sides with the Flower Garden embossing folder. Other items used: punches and Teeny Tiny Wishes for the sentiment; floral wire to hold up the roses and half a Styrofoam ball, and little roses made with the Sizzix 3D flower die (not from SU). My glue gun got a work out with these!

To help WordPress bloggers with the post a day/week challenge, the creative people at WP offer suggestions for posts. Today they asked the question, what non-exercise activity do you wish would keep you fit? Duh! Stamping of course! There is a little bit of exercise involved, like when you have to stand up and crank your Big Shot, or get up to look for a stamp set because you haven’t taken the time to organize your stamp sets.

Here is my latest creation, rather pretty if I say so myself. I used Daffodil Delight for the outer petals, Barely Banana (ret) for the inner petals and Very Vanilla for the center, all sponged with More Mustard ink. The leaves and stems are Old Olive. The vase is made with Very Vanilla and embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. A little Very Vanilla ribbon to tie it up and there you have it, yellow roses in a petal cone vase.

I loved the roses so much I made five more! These were for a conference for NEWIM, an organization I love and volunteer for regularly. I made the tags with the Curly Label punch and the Movers & Shapers Curly Label die. I can’t wait to try making other flowers!
