My March workshop projects include one CASE and one original. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the lingo, CASE means I copied, which is the highest form of flattery. I liked Serenity_Stamper’s card on splitcoast so I copied it and added my own twist (don’t say it). I didn’t have any Rose Red ribbon, so I took a strip of Rose Red cardstock and stamped it in the same ink with the neat little stamp called Solid Stripes, which you can get for free with a $50 order this month. It’s on a base of Wild Wasabi, embossed with Perfect Polka Dots, layered on Rose Red and topped off with a Crumb Cake label. Not having ribbon makes me come up with creative solutions. I don’t usually use stripes, but I like them here.

The second card uses Take a Spin, stamped in Cherry Cobbler on the same color base, with a Night of Navy border punched with the Scallop Trim corner and border punches. I couldn’t resist using the Solid Stripes stamp again – so cute. The sentiments on both cards come from Sincere Salutations, a reliable never-goes-out-of-style set. To get the arrow to spin, you have to put a little shim between the brad and the arrow before flattening the back of the brad. The little bit of space lets the arrow move freely. That tip is courtesy of the always brilliant JanTink. Scroll down to the 1-17-11 post to see her card.
