I know I’m straying a bit from SU stamps, but I couldn’t resist this one. The fuchsia is one of my favorite flowers. I wish I could grow them but I have to settle for stamping them.

I stamped the flowers in black craft ink and watercolored with Elegant Eggplant, Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green. I used the same colors for the base and mat. The Cherry Cobbler seam binding makes a nice accent. I cut a little piece to wrap around the middle and tacked it down with Snail adhesive, so it’s flat for mailing. The fuchsia stamp set is from Our Daily Bread and the sentiment is SU’s Sincere Salutations (retiring soon).

One more fuchsia-adorned box – this one was made with the Matchbook Box die, an exclusive Stampin’ Up! design. I used my favorite jumbo wheel, Very Vintage, to stamp the design on Crumb Cake card stock with Crumb Cake ink. The phrase is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. The punched fuchsias came from Valita.

I used this box to hand deliver a gift to a very dear friend. This is another reason why I love paper crafting and Stampin’ Up! The box is just as much a gift as what’s inside!

As promised, here is the vase with five fuchsias. This actually went together quickly and I’m very pleased with how it came out. These flowers are difficult to grow in SoCal, but now I can have them inside without worrying about killing them.

The punches needed to make these flowers are the five petal, oval scallop, extra large heart (leaves), Boho Blossoms, large scallop oval and large circle. Lots of punching, but quite worth it. Valita (thanks for the inspiration) sponged everything with Real Red, which gives it a little real life dimension. The vase is made with the Petal Cone die (sure hope it makes the new catalog in July) and stamped with the Very Vintage jumbo wheel  – Crumb Cake on Crumb Cake. I wonder which flowers I can make next?
