Merry Christmas everyone!

I made a lot of them, 111 to be exact, and I sent every single one out!

When you can’t think of anything else to give, money always works! This money card is really easy to make. Take a full sheet of cardstock, score at 4″ and 8″. Cut the small end diagonally to make a place to stash the cash (see inside view). This one is made with all retired stuff too, except for the strip of Always Artichoke across the front and the white ribbon. It looks nice under the tree but there’s no surprise for the recipient – it’s pretty obvious what’s inside!

Every year I make gifts for my bowling league, usually involving chocolate! This year I made these little purses with the Petite Purse Bigz L die. I pulled out my stash of retired paper and stamps for the rest – Riding Hood Red cardstock and a stamp set from a couple of years ago. Hey, I’ve been a demonstrator for over 10 years now (got my 10 year pin in June) and from time to time, it’s nice to dust off some old sets and get them inky.

I cut off the top of the purse, die cut just the tops again, stamped them and glued them into the purses so the tops could be decorated with the poinsettia. A peppermint patty fit nicely inside. Fun to make and cute too!

I cased this card from Dawn on SCS. DH really liked this one but it turned out to be my least favorite. The glitter really helped it and it is prettier in person than in the photo, although hers is pretty in the photo too, which is why I tried it.

Next year I have to start on cards in October! Especially when I have trouble making up my mind. It’s easier to stick with one design when you need to make large a quantity of cards. I tell myself that every year, so I guess this is just one more resolution that probably won’t be kept!

This is card #3, a variation on the second, also made with Watercolor Winter and in all the same colors. I really like this set, too bad it’s going away.

Here’s the second of four cards I made for Christmas. I just couldn’t decide this year! All four were made using the Watercolor Winter set, which is only available through January 2. It’s my favorite Christmas set from the holiday mini. This one features the pine branch and pine cone stamps. It’s on a base of Crumb Cake, with a mat of Always Artichoke. I used punches for the sentiment, which is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. If you click on the card, you might be able to see the glitter on the pine cones and needles. This card looks better in person. And I only made one!

I made several cards this year—couldn’t decide on a design I liked the best. This one is on Whisper White, with a Riding Hood Red poinsettia made with the Watercolor Winter stamp set. I stamped another one in Garden Green and cut it up for leaves. The wreath is made with the Holiday Frame embossing folder, cut out and sponged with Riding Hood Red. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, punched and sponged. A little glitter glue in the middle of the flower added just the right touch. It’s a simple yet elegant way to say Merry Christmas!
