I know it’s a little late but I’ve been behind ever since I broke my arm last May. So I’ll start catching up by posting my 2014 Christmas card and I’ll try to keep up from now on! This card was made with all retired stuff so I’m not going to bother listing the “ingredients.”

2014 Christmas card

I’m thinking of branching out with this blog to include other crafts, cooking and whatever else strikes my fancy, so stay tuned to see where my creative muse takes me.

Sometimes when people see my cards, they wonder about how much time it takes and immediately dismiss stamping as a hobby they would never have time to take up. It’s true, creating your own cards can be time-consuming—and expensive. But with a subscription to Stampin’ Up!’s Paper Pumpkin, it doesn’t have to be either. For $19.95 a month (shipping included), you’ll receive stamps, ink, ready-to-stamp card stock and the right accessories to make cards and other projects.

I’m back from the Stampin’ Up! demonstrator convention and it was great as usual, but maybe even more fun for me this time because I got to help out at the make and take sessions. For those who don’t know about make and takes, they are cards and projects we make during convention and the good news is we don’t have to cut up any paper!

The theme was “I am…” so naturally we were asked to finish the sentence. I am…grounded. The second question was what do I want to be? My answer is expressive. Interesting things to contemplate.

More to come as I process the photos.

2011 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Syndey Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 16,000 times in 2011. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 6 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

I’m a little slow posting these, but better late than never. Convention was a lot of fun – good sessions, lots of demonstrations and great displays and even a little help for our personal lives, with Ray’s Purpose. Don’t you love the mirror card and the little dress? The stage was beautiful and the tour of the SU office was great too. Catching the flag in the morning sun was a bonus.

My first bear

I finally found an opportunity to make a card with our SU exclusive Build-a-Bear die. It’s really simple, but hopefully a cute card for a very sick little boy. The stamps are from Strength & Hope and Hello Again.
