It’s good to challenge yourself, or in my case, to be challenged. The ability to make many different cards from one stamp set is a selling point for Stampin’ Up! but it’s something I haven’t done very often in the past. I usually make one card and move on to a different set. The challenge from my upline to make five cards from one stamp set has been good for me, really exercising my creativity. The chance to win a free stamp set helps too! Did I mention I won for the third quarter last year? I chose Delightful Dozen.

I turned in five cards for the fourth quarter and to my amazement, I won another set! This time I have chosen Fabulous Phrases, lots of words you can put together in a surprising number of combinations. Here’s the first card for that challenge, made with Everything Eleanor, an absolutely beautiful set!

The base is Crumb Cake, the mat is Midnight Muse and the sentiment is from From My Heart. I used the Labels Collection framelits—love those framelits! For a little extra  something, I cut thin strips of cardstock and glued them behind the frame.

Sale-a-Bration starts soon! If you ever wanted to start stamping or you want to add to your stash, now is the time. For every $50 you spend, you’ll receive a free item from the SAB catalog. All our catalogs may be viewed at www.stampinup.com.

I cased this card from Dawn on SCS. DH really liked this one but it turned out to be my least favorite. The glitter really helped it and it is prettier in person than in the photo, although hers is pretty in the photo too, which is why I tried it.

Next year I have to start on cards in October! Especially when I have trouble making up my mind. It’s easier to stick with one design when you need to make large a quantity of cards. I tell myself that every year, so I guess this is just one more resolution that probably won’t be kept!

This is card #3, a variation on the second, also made with Watercolor Winter and in all the same colors. I really like this set, too bad it’s going away.
