I know I’m straying a bit from SU stamps, but I couldn’t resist this one. The fuchsia is one of my favorite flowers. I wish I could grow them but I have to settle for stamping them.

I stamped the flowers in black craft ink and watercolored with Elegant Eggplant, Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green. I used the same colors for the base and mat. The Cherry Cobbler seam binding makes a nice accent. I cut a little piece to wrap around the middle and tacked it down with Snail adhesive, so it’s flat for mailing. Do I seem to be stuck on these petal cone die vases? They are a unique way to give a greeting and not just a card to throw away after a day or two (not that anyone throws away my cards – who would do that?). I made this one (for Irene also) with the oval die and my trusty Coluzzle. I used the same colors as the previous post and again, retired stamp sets and card stock. Happy Easter!

Thinking outside the box again (thanks to Irene) by putting hearts together for Easter. Once again I used the Stampin’ Up! exclusive petal cone die to make the base (retired Sage Shadow), gave it texture with the polka dot texturz plate and added the greeting with oval punches. The hearts were made with the SU exclusive hearts framelits and the large heart punch. I trimmed down the mats for the bigger hearts as they were just a bit too big for the lace background (Paper Doily sizzlit).  The stamp sets I used are all retired, as is most of the card stock. Fun to put together, a little different, but a nice way to say Happy Easter!
