I love this card! I learned the wood grain background technique from JanTink (http://stampspaperscissors.typepad.com/stamps_paper_scissors/2009/09/rockin-the-woodgrain-background.html). I used a retired set called Noble Deer, the new Early Espresso cardstock and Always Artichoke. It looks even better IRL. If you come to my next class, I’ll show you how to do this.

June cards

I’ve been having fun with the black magic technique and the retiring set Garden Whimsy. The black magic technique uses white craft ink on black paper and our SU watercolor pencils.

The two cards in Basic Gray were inspired by Lisa Young (http://addinkandstamp.blogspot.com/2010/04/bouquet-bunch-meets-stencil.html) and are made with our Folk Flowers stencil which is unfortunately no longer available. We have several beautiful current stencils and some new ones coming in the next Definitely Decorative catalog.

The blue one was made using the baby wipe and reinker technique. It’s simple – just apply drops of reinker to a folded baby wipe and use it as your ink pad. I also used an embossing folder from the new catalog – couldn’t resist!
